Find out about the Karen Refugee community

From Burma, living here in Sheffield

The Karen Community Association Sheffield (KCA Sheffield) would like to invite you all to an event to be held on Saturday 3rd July (further details below) as part of Refugee week, where you can learn about the Karen community in Sheffield, who they are, where they came from and some of the issues they have to deal with here in the UK. The program will include;

First Part-

Short History of Karen refugee

• Karen youth performance

• Dancing and Singing

• Guests speakers

• A documentary about Karen people , Burma

• Question and Answer session

Second Part-

The celebration of Teacher’s Day

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits will be available (Including traditional Karen foods)

Donations are requested and will be used as follows;

40% to cover the running costs of the local organisation
60% donated to internally displaced people in Burma
