Dear Friends of Burma,
We, the
Karen community Association, would be honoured if you would join us at our fundraising
event for the Karen community in Sheffield, but primarily to fund the internally
displaced children in Burma’s Karen state.
We would
like to invite you all to join us on Saturday 9th March 2013 at Mount Tabor Church, Wordsworth
Avenue, Sheffield S5 8NB. We have a guest speaker
who will share up-to-date information with regard to the situation and how the
changes in Burma are affecting the Karen people and their children. We will leave time at the end of the event to
address any questions you may have.
A buffet of Karen
and Burmese dishes will be served, and there will be tea, coffee and soft drinks
available throughout the day.
£10 Tickets will be sold on the day, the
profits of which will be distributed as follows:
- 70 % will go directly to the children of the Internally Displaced People
- 30 % will assist the Karen Community Association, Sheffield to fund these events.
We sincerely
