A Cultural Evening with the Karen People of Burma


Dear Friend,

Last year we had a very successful Karen Cultural event in London and many of you asked about this recently. Good News! The Karen community is pleased to be able to put this cultural event again this year and would like to invite you to join us and enjoy our cultural performance with food.

Date: 29 October 2011
Time- Food served: 5.30PM to 7PM, Program starts: 7PM to 9PM
Place: St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, 78 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AG.
Nearest tube stations: Bank and Liverpool Street.

The aims of this event are to raise awareness about the Karen people, our culture, tradition and the situation of Karen people in Burma. At the same time we would like to raise funds for our organisation to continue our activities to help our people back home in Burma.

The program includes;
Traditional Dance
Music performance
Karen clothes fashion show
Karen Handicraft, traditional clothes sale
Very exciting Raffle prize will be at the end.

Zoya Phan, author of Little Daughter, will be hosting the event (signed copies will be available for sale).

Normal ticket is 10 pounds per person and solidarity price is 15 pounds per person. Ticket includes free food and soft drinks.
However, the tickets are very limited and selling fast so please book as soon as possible. We really don’t want you to miss this chance.
