| ႏိုဝင္ဘာလကတည္းက ျဖစ္လာတဲ့ DKBA နဲ႕ နအဖ စစ္တပ္မွာ ကရင္ဘက္က က်ဆံုးမႈ႕ဟာ ၁ဝ ေယာက္ေလာက္ေတာင္မရွိေသးပါဘူး နအဖ ဘက္က ဘဲ အက်အဆံုးကေတာ့ သတင္းစာမ်က္ႏွာေတြမွာ မ်ားစြာေဖာ္ျပ ၾကတယ္ဆိုေတာ့ အေထြအထူး မေျပာျခင္ဘူး။ ဒီေတာ့ ေမာင္မင္းၾကီးသား ငတုန္းမ်ားက ကရင္ေတြက်မေသဘူးလား Super Men ေတြလားလို႕ စီးေဘာက္တကာမွ လိုက္ေရးတာလည္း အားလံုးေတြက်မွာပါဘဲ။ နအဖ စစ္သားနဲ႕ ဒီေကဘီေအ ကရင္စစ္သားေတြကို ယွဥ္ၾကည့္မယ္ဆိုရင္ေတာ့ ဒီေကဘီေအ စစ္သားေတြက မ်ဳိးခ်စ္စိတ္နဲ႕ တရားမွ်တ မႈ႕အတြက္တိုက္သလို႕ ကုိယ့္ခံယူခ်က္နဲ႕ လူမ်ဳိး ဘာသာ သာသနာကို ကာကြယ္ဖို႕ စစ္ထဲဝင္တဲ့သူေတြျဖစ္တယ္။ နအဖ စစ္သားေတြကေတာ့ DSA ဗိုလ္သင္တန္း ဆင္းေတြကလြဲရင္ တပ္သား ေတာ္ေတာ္မ်ားမ်ားကေတာ့ ၁ဝ၉/၁၁ဝ ေတြ ကို စစ္သားစု ေဆာင္းေရး သူေတြ အတင္းအဓမၼ ထုနက္ျပီး စစ္ထဲထည့္ထားတာေတြမ်ားသလို႕ အသက္မျပည့္တဲ့ ခေလးေတြကလည္း ဒုနဲ႕ ေဒးဘဲ။ ဒီေကဘီေအ စစ္အင္အား အေရအတြက္ က နအဖ စစ္အင္အားနဲ႕ ယွဥ္ၾကည့္လိုက္ရင္ အဆ တစ္ရာေလာက္နည္းပါတယ္။ အေရအတြက္ေျပာတာ အရည္အခ်ည္းကေတာ့ ဆီနဲ႕ေရလို ကြာတယ္။ ေနာက္တစ္ခုက နအဖ စစ္သားေတြ ဟာ နယ္ေျမကၽြမ္းက်င္မႈ႕ကလည္း မရွိဘူး။ ေနာက္ျပီး အင္တာဗ်ဴးတစ္ခုမွာ နအဖ စစ္သားေလး ေျပာသြားသလိုဆို နအဖ စစ္သားေတြ ေရွ႕တမ္းမွာ ထမင္းစားစရာမရွိလို႕ ထမင္းမဝၾကရွာဘူး။ ဗိုက္ဆာဆာနဲ႕ စစ္တိုက္ေနၾကရမယ္ဆိုရင္ေတာ့ စစ္ပြဲထဲ အာရံုစူးစိုက္မႈ႕ အျပည့္အဝမရွိႏိုင္ဘူး။ ဒီလို ထမင္းမဝလို႕လဲ ကရင္ေတြဘက္ကို ေျပးလာေတြ႕ရတာေပါ့။ ဘာသာေရးနဲ႕ေျပာရရင္လည္း နအဖ စစ္သားေတြဟာ လူတကာ က်ိန္ဆဲ ေနတဲ့ သံဃာသတ္ ျပည္သူသတ္ ေဒဝဒတ္ သန္းေရႊ ရဲ႕ေကာင္ေတြ။ လူစိတ္မရွိတဲ့ ေကာင္ေတြကို သမာေဒဝ နတ္ေကာင္း နတ္ျမတ္ေတြက ဘယ္လိုလာေစာင့္ေရွာက္ႏိုင္မွာလဲ။ ဒီေကဘီေအ စစ္တပ္အင္အားက က်န္ခဲ့တဲ့ ႏွစ္က နအဖ နဲ႕ တိုက္ပြဲျဖစ္သြားတဲ့ ကိုးကန္႕ သာသာဘဲရွိပါတယ္။ ကိုးကန္႕ ကို နအဖ ၃ ရက္ တည္းနဲ႕ အျပတ္တိုက္သြားေပမဲ့ ဒီေကဘီေအကို နအဖ အခုတိုက္ေနတာ ၃ လ ထဲကို ေရာက္ေနပါျပီ ဒီေကဘီေအ စစ္သားေတြသာ နအဖ စစ္သားေတြ ေသသလိုမ်ဳိး အျပိဳင္လိုက္ ေသေနရင္ အခုဆိုရင္ နအဖ ကိုတိုက္မဲ့ ဒီေကဘီေအ စစ္သားဆိုတာ ရွိမွာေတာင္ မဟုတ္ဘူးဆိုတာကို သန္းေရႊေခြး လဒူ ငတုန္း မ်ား မစဥ္းစားတတ္ၾကဘူး။ ႏိုင္သန္းေရႊ Fromm Karen United |

နအဖ တပ္ေတြဟာ ေဝၚေလဘက္က အိုကေရ႕ထ နဲ႔ ေက်ာက္ခက္ေနရာကေတြကို ဒီရက္ထဲမွာ အျပင္းအထန္ ထိုးစစ္ ဆင္တုိက္ခိုက္လာတာေတြရွိၿပီး နအဖ စစ္တပ္ဘက္က အက်အဆံုးမ်ားစြာရွိေနပါတယ္။ ေခ်ာင့္ခက္ေနရာကို ထုိးစစ္ ဆင္လာတဲ့တပ္ေတြကေတာ့ စကခ (၁၂) လက္ေအာက္က ခမရ (၅၄၆)၊ ခမရ (၅၄၈)၊ ခမရ (၅၄၉) ႏွင့္ စကခ (၉) က ခမရ (၃၅၆)၊ ခမရ (၃၅၇) တပ္ေတြျဖစ္ၿပီး၊ ေဝၚေလ အိုကေရ႕ထ ေနရာကို ထုိးစစ္ဆင္ တုိက္ခိုက္လာတဲ့ နအဖ စစ္တပ္ တပ္ေတြကေတာ့ ခမရ (၄၀၁)၊ ခမရ (၄၀၃)၊ ခမရ (၅၈၆) နဲ႔ ခမရ (၂၉၉) စတဲ့ တပ္ေတြပဲ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
ဒီကေန႔မနက္ ၇ နာရီဝန္က်င္ေလာက္က နအဖဘက္က လက္နက္ႀကီးေတြနဲ႔ အစပ်ဳိးပစ္ခတ္လာၿပီး ၁၀ နာရီခြဲေလာက္ မွာေတာ့ ေျမျပင္ကေန ေက်ာက္ခက္အနီးက ဒီေကဘီေအ တပ္ဖြဲ႔ေတြ အသင့္ေနရာယူျပင္ဆင္ထားတဲ့ ေတာင္ကုန္းေတြ ကို ထိုးစစ္ဆင္တုိက္ခုိ္က္လာပါတယ္။ တုိက္ပြဲဟာ ညေန ၃ နာရီေလာက္မွာ နားသြားၿပီး နအဖ ဘက္က အက်အဆံုးမ်ား စြာနဲ႔ ဖလူးဘက္ကို ဆုတ္ခြာသြားခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ဒီတုိက္ပြဲမွာ နအဖ ဘက္က အေသ၊ ဒဏ္ရာ အားလံုးေပါင္း ၅၀ ေလာက္ရွိ ႏုိင္တယ္လို႔ ဒီေကဘီေက တပ္မဟာ ၅ မွ ဗိုလ္ဆန္းေအာင္ က အတည္ျပဳေျပာၾကားပါတယ္။
အခု တုိက္ပြဲျဖစ္တဲ့ ေနရာကို ဇန္နဝါရီလ ၂၉ ရက္ေန႔ မေန႔ကလည္း နအဖ တပ္ေတြ လာေရာက္တုိက္ခုိက္ၿပီး အေသ၊ ဒဏ္ရာ အားလံုးေပါင္း ၁၀ ေယာက္ေလာက္ရရွိကာ ျပန္လည္ဆုတ္ခြာသြားခဲ့တယ္လို႔ ဗိုလ္ဆန္းေအာင္က ဆက္လက္ ေျပာျပပါတယ္။ ဆက္လက္ၿပီး အနီးအနား ဆက္စပ္ေဒသေတြက တုိက္ပြဲအေျခအေနေတြကို ဗိုလ္ဆန္းေအာင္ က ဆက္ေျပာျပ ပါတယ္။
“မေန႔က ည ၈ နာရီခြဲေလာက္မွာ ေဝၚေလ အိုကေရ႕ထနားက နအဖ ဗ်ဴဟာကုန္းကုိ က်ေနာ္တို႔ ဒီေကဘီေအ ဘက္က ဝင္ေရာက္တုိက္ခုိက္ခဲ့တယ္။ နအဖ ဘက္က ဗိုလ္မွဴးအဆင့္ အပါ ၆ ဦး ဒဏ္ရာရတယ္။ အဲဒီလူနာေတြကို ဒီကေန႔ပဲ ထုိင္းႏုိင္ငံထဲက သယ္သြားတယ္ ျမဝတီဘက္ကို။ အဲဒါက ေဝၚေလမွာ ျဖစ္ခဲ့တာ”
ဆက္လက္ၿပီး ဒီေန႔ သဃၤန္းညီေနာင္နားက နအဖ ကားတန္းကို ဒီေကဘီေအ ဘက္က တုိက္ခိုက္ခဲ့တဲ့ သတင္းကိုလည္း ဆက္ေျပာျပပါတယ္။
“ဟုတ္တယ္ ဒီေန႔ မနက္ ၈ နာရီ ၁၅ မိနစ္ေလာက္ သဃၤန္းညီေနာင္နားမွာ က်ေနာ္တို႔ဘက္ ဗိုလ္မွဴးေက်ာ္ပ႐ို ဦးေဆာင္ ၿပီ နအဖ ကားတန္းကို တုိက္ခုိက္လို္က္တယ္။ ကားတစီးေခ်ာက္ထဲထုိးၾကတယ္ ေနာက္တစီးက လမ္းေဘးမွာ ထိုးရပ္ေန တယ္။ ၆ ဦးေသၿပီး ၁၃ ဦး ဒဏ္ရာရတယ္။ ထိခိုက္ဒဏ္ရာထဲမွာ ဗိုလ္ႀကီးအဆင့္ရွိတဲ တေယာက္လည္းပါတယ္ၾကား တယ္။ ကားေနာက္လိုက္နဲ႔ ကားေမာင္းသူ အရပ္သားႏွစ္ဦးလည္း ဒဏ္ရာျပင္းထန္တယ္လို႔ သိရတယ္။” လို႔ ေျပာျပသြား တယ္။

"I have to cross streams, go over mountains and through the jungle to get there. I sleep in villagers' homes along the way," said Hsa Mu Na, a 36-year-old ethnic Karen health worker.

They say, “All is fair in love and war.”
But for Karen civilians trapped in the jungle between Burmese government forces and Karen rebels, there is very little sense of fairness in either matter.
Take “Saw P,” a 37-year-old villager who recently arrived at a temporary refugee camp in Thailand after leaving his home in Papun District in northern Karen State, which has turned into a war zones in the last few months.
On the night of Oct. 13, Saw P was tending to his wife who was nine months pregnant with their third child. He tended the fireplace inside the family's humble wooden house while a neighbor acted as midwife.
No other neighbors or friends were around. Almost the entire village had fled in the preceding days when they heard that the Tatmadaw, or Burmese army troops, had set up a camp nearby.
Saw P's 24-year-old wife gave birth to a baby boy. She had the chance to hold her child and name him before she was shot dead.

အခုရက္ပိုင္းေတြအတြင္းမွာ ဒီေကဘီေအနဲ႔ နအဖ တပ္ေတြရဲ႕ တုိက္ပြဲေတြဟာ ဆက္တုိက္ဆိုသလိုျဖစ္ပြားေနၿပီး နအဖ ဘက္က အင္အားအလံုးအရင္းနဲ႔ ျဖန္႔ခြဲအသံုးျပဳတာေတြ႔ရပါတယ္။ ဒီေန႔မွာဆုိရင္လည္း အံုးဖန္နဲ႔ ကေလာ့ေထာ့ အနီးက ခ်ဴကလီရြာနားမွာလည္း ဇန္နဝါရီလ ၁၁ ရက္ေန႔ မနက္ ၈ နာရီက တုိက္ပြဲျဖစ္ပြားခဲ့ပါေသးတယ္။

ဇန္နဝါရီလ ၁၀ ရက္ေန႔ ေလးေဒး ေနရာမွာျဖစ္တဲ့ တုိက္ပြဲမွာလည္း နအဖဘက္က ထိခိုက္ေသဆံုး ၅၀ ရွိခဲ့ၿပီး အဲဒီထဲကမွ ၂၀ ေယာက္ဟာ ဒဏ္ရာျပင္းထန္ရခဲ့တဲ့ အျပင္ အက်ဥ္းသားေတြကို အထမ္းသမားအျဖစ္နဲ႔ေခၚလာခဲ့တဲ့ သူေတြထဲက ၆ ဦးလည္း ေသဆံုးခဲ့တယ္လုိ႔၊ သိရပါတယ္။ ဒီေကဘီေအဘက္က တဦး ဒဏ္ရာနဲ႔ ၁ ဦး က်ဆံုးခဲ့ပါတယ္။
အခု နအဖ ရဲ႕ ထုိးစစ္အတြင္းမွာ နအဖ စစ္သားအင္အား အလံုးအရင္းနဲ႔သံုးတဲ့အျပင္ အင္းစိန္၊ ေမာ္လၿမိဳင္၊ ဘားအံေတာင္ကေလးက အက်ဥ္းသားေတြကို လူသားမုိင္းရွင္းအျဖစ္ရယ္ အထမ္းသမားအျဖစ္ရယ္ပါ တြင္တြင္က်ယ္က်ယ္ အသံုးျပဳေနတာေတြကို ယခုျဖစ္ေနတဲ့ ေဝၚေလ နဲ႔ ဖလူးေဒသက နအဖ ထိုးစစ္ေတြမွာ ေတြ႔ျမင္ၾကံဳေတြ႔ေနရပါတယ္။

Karen People in the UK Celebrate Karen New Year and Youth of the Year 2010 Award
Today, Karen community in the United Kingdom celebrates Karen New Year in Sheffield city. On this special day, Karen people around the world celebrate it with joy and happiness. This celebration is organized by the Karen Community Association UK (KCA-UK) with the aim to preserve and promote Karen culture.
The Karen New Year celebration is taking place all over the world wherever the Karen people are. It began 2750 years ago and on this significant day, no matter where the Karen people are, they all come together with community spirit and celebrate it with joyfulness.
In the UK, the celebration today features many important Karen cultural performances including Karen Done Dance, Bamboo Dance, and Karen songs. There are also speeches including the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Alan Law JP.
There is a special session where the KCA-UK awards ‘Youth of the Year 2010’ to two young remarkable persons, Naw Blut Htoo Win and Naw Blut Say Win, in honour of their outstanding work, dedication and effort in the community. This award recognises and thanks them for their hard work towards the development of the Karen people and as role models of other young people.
“Today is very important day for our Karen people. It signifies our Karen people’s identity, brings unity, joy and love for each other. In Burma, we can not celebrate our national days freely. I hope one day, we can all enjoy our new year in our homeland without fear. Let us celebrate our new year with new hope and new spirit to bring about change in our homeland”, said Saw Eh Htee Kaw, joint secretary of the Karen Community Association UK.
Currently, around 500 Karen people are residing in the UK and most of them are refugees who fled from attacks by the Burmese Army in their home land. The KCA-UK represents the Karen Community in the UK. It assists the community with problems they face coming to live in the UK, raises awareness about the situation in Burma, raises money to help refugees and internally displaced people, and campaigns for action by the international community. KCA-UK also aims to promote unity among the Karen and at the same time preserve and promote Karen’s culture, literature and language in UK.
